As part of our Legacy of Pope St. John Paul II, Mike examines key contributions from Pope St. John Paul II in the area of Catholic Social Teaching.

Mike Phelan serves as Director of Marriage and Respect Life for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix for the past 10 years. He holds a Masters degree in Theological Studies from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family Studies at the Catholic University of America. He is a periodic columnist for the Catholic Sun. Other than coaching and attempting to still play basketball as well as fighting the good fight for marriage, family and human life, he keeps his feet firmly planted in the soil of the Shire. Mike and his wife of nineteen years, Sharon, reside with their six children in Mesa, Arizona.
